THE DANCE
There are excellent choreography in the show. However, that present a problem in itself. Excellent choreography works with many dances, but street dancing(to me) is more of expressing yourself with the beats. Therefore, the last dance of the MAS Crew which was supposedly the best dance, failed to impress as it work too much of the mechanism of the dances than expressions of it. The theatrics aside, a friend of mine told me that the rival 5 times champion Crew was better in the end.

And it’s kind of true.

Apart from the well-thought-out dance moves in the last dance of the movie, like the move in the picture below, it really do lack the feel of great street dancings.(although the torchlights and the rain adds alot to the effects)

But that doesn’t mean all the dance moves in the movie are lacking in the street feel. They are in fact, crazy and insane, in a good way. Just look at the MAS Crew breakdancer(nicknamed Monster in the movie), he is overwhelming with his breaks that never stops, unless he stops of course.

THE MOVIE
The plot itself is very archetypical, ordinary and in the least, inspiring. The modus operandi of the movie is basically, girl in plight, loves dancing, got help from a good friend for a chance in a good dance school, had a hard time juggling friends outside and school, got outcasted by friends, form her own crew in the school with some geeks, produced inspiring street dance.
prank in 7-11
Nothing fresh, but definitely something to get the masses to watch.(there are babes!)

There are side stories like the typical love storylines, conflicts and stuffs, but nothing was worth watching and the movie can even do without those!

This movie is abouting appreciating the dance moves, and nothing else.
And i like it.
