WAYS to get around Internet Regulations in Singapore

I almost broke up in laughter when i saw this article on Journalism.sg : From light to lighter, Government signals direction of Net regulation.

blocked by firewall

Didn’t Youporn and Redtube get officially banned in the vast list of banned websites under Singapore? Rewinding back a little, didn’t our privacy got a little legally violated during the ODEX saga, where certain ISPs were allowed to release information to track an individual down?
There are tons of examples where internet regulations are in play, but let’s not get too bothered by it.

There are a few methods to deviate from such regulations:

First and foremost is the legendary method of not inserting the www. tag infront of your web address to access most of the pages. This method is just too easy, too hilarious.

Secondly, is the method of using Proxy as a tool to deviate the “Great Firewall of Singapore”. A search on google will hand you lots of method, but this 2 little softwares will do just fine i think.
If you use Firefox, this add-on will be good enough.
If not, you can use ProxyWay, a software to allow you to surf anonymously.

Lastly, block other IPs, including P2P sniffers and stuffs to surf more anonymously in the internet. I find PeerGuardian 2 quite useful for when using torrents as it prevents others from poking around.

Enjoy :D
