Was this movie trying to tell us something?

Story
Before we go to what i think the movie is telling us, let’s talk about the story first. This movie is a fantasy flick, which means magic, old english styled battles and wierd creatures exists in the world of Narnia. How the story goes on, is quite predictable, because i have actually anticipated what was going to happen throughout the show.
This 2nd installment to the 3 part series, has no link to the first series, because the world of Narnia has evolved over hundreds of years and things have all changed. Only the main 4 characters didn’t. I would appreciate though, if they kept some form of links between the series to have a better storyline overall, like Lord of the Rings.

Thoughts
The feeling that the whole movie gave me is that it’s intended for children, because of how innocent and simple the plot was structured out to be. However, you have to give credits to the animations in the show. Done in classic Hollywood high budget style, it is an amazing journey for the audience(Just look at how they get teleported, nice. A lil happy potter style in there though).
It is also inevitable that one compare this second sequel to the first. And to me, it fails to uphold the wonder of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. This is because, the story was less intriguing and fresh. It just doesn’t give me a new perspective or curiosity to delve deeper into the story. The whole magical wonder of the first installment has disappeared in the second.
One major question of mine would be, since Aslan the lion was aware of the on-goings, why did he need to wait for Lucy to find him and fetch him over to the war zone? Weird.

SO what was the movie trying to tell us?
My gut feeling is that there is a slight innotation regarding global warming. Look at how the “humans” are portrayed as the destroyers, invading the “forest” which kind of represent the nature. This is true in today’s terms. And look at how they got destroyed by the “forces” of nature at the end, the trees and the water. Is the story trying to tell us that we will face the consequences for trying to control and destroy the nature? Fruit for thoughts ![]()
