Well, one day i was walking past this little shop named “newurbanmale”, when i noticed the words “I Love BJ”.

It’s printed on their clothes and i thought it got the wrong attention drawn to it, which truthfully, i’m not thinking that “BJ” means “Beijing” on the first glance.
With a longer observation, their illustrations show Beijing written in chinese, which i don’t think people who don’t understand chinese knows what it means anyway.
The illustration designs are largely derived from propaganda arts of the era when communism thrives in China. There’s a slightly nostalgic feel of such art, but is regrettably not at all inspirational and upon closer inspection, the concepts are quite weird.(why is the beijing word in chinese, “bleeding”?)
However, in anticipation of the Beijing Olympic, it looks like many are banking on the Olympic to bring them money, even if your stuffs are quite lousy. Maybe it’s the reference to the Olympic that counts?
