There are bad western press, but there are also good western ones. It's encouraging to note that many of the independent presses take issues on the the fence and question the stories the bad presses publish.
It's a pity though, that China bashing is getting overboard is some of the mainstream medias. I am however, happy that our local newspaper always take a rather discrete stand in the issue.
The Chinese has also retort over the web in protests over the Western's portrayal of them.
It's a pity that the Western has taken this chance to show that the Chinese, however advanced now, is still too nationalist at heart and much of the communist spirit remains, just like during the era of Red Guards. This is an unjust portrayal of the Chinese by comparing them to their chaotic past.
(i just edited my comment. Couldn't make out what i was typing this morning. lol.)

West chauvinism...

I can also relate it to latest so-called Malaysian political 'turmoil'.

Australian press never cares about Malaysia. Even the weather forecast leaves Malaysia out when they feature Thailand and Singapore's.

All of a sudden, Australian press featured the capture of Anwar Ibrahim on the headline and the tagline is 'another conspiracy'?

Let's no forget now Anwar is charged of sodomy, why can't we have him to 'assist' the investigation?

The western press only wants to see what they want to see. Even they don't believe in the west always. They always believe in BELIEF IN THE WEST.

Hi, thanks for sharing some interesting stuffs on my blog. I think this is really a good thing for nnetizens where everyone has the chance to share their views.

I was very aware about this anti-CNN issue and Sinophobia events happening around the western world. I have been reading the chinese century blog http://www.thechinesecentury.org/
to monitor this progress.

politicians and media are using the public fear to demonize China for their own agenda. many things are twisted. If you read May special issue of National Geographic, you will find 95% of the pictures portray China as a negative country.

Such demonization is very dangerous as it has the potential to cause a new cold war between the east and west.

The China bashing is so severe that the Chinese people, who are normally tolerant and don't speak up, counter protested globally.

Protesting against human rights abuse in China is one thing, but demonizing China until openly supporting the tibetan terrorists/mobs (through petition) is obviously crossing the line. It is so disrespectful to the Chinese people, like slapping them across their faces.

The west is too arrogant, thinking they are the superior side. What a pity.

According to the survey, most people living Western countries do not like China. however, people outside of Western world support China. It is obvious that Westerners are brainwashed.

Dalai lama is portrayed as a holy man when he has commited a lot of human rights crimed. If you read history, Dalai lama regime actually imprisoned spiritual leaders of other buddhist sects and force the people to convert to his religion (Yellow Hat Gelug Sect).

this is really sad.
