That’s something really hilarious, i wonder who wrote it. This was supposedly a funny response to the Prime Minister’s National Day Rally, which was just over. [Full transcript of the Rally]

However, this supposedly funny letter, is rather cynical and outlines the attitude of how some citizens actually portray out the government to be. In his rally, he note that the government has actually put much effort into reducing inflation. Realistically, citizens do not and will not see the big picture most of the time.
Many citizens only focus on the facts that hinder or affect their life, a trend very much inherent in our society in Singapore. I am not saying that the government is the good guy, and the citizens the bad guy, it is rather a more focused and realistic approach that the government should take in viewing issues, and work things out from the citizen level while maintaining the bigger picture of the country.
Juggling the micro and macro issues of the country is difficult, but a balance is of necessity.
